Alongside my academic work, I work with public and private sector organisations of all sizes, in the UK and around the world, bringing research-informed insights and independent expertise to real-world challenges.

Recent topics have included socio-technical barriers to road freight decarbonisation, transport behaviour in the net-zero transition, questions of ‘climate-compatibility’ for aviation, and the real-world roll out of vehicle automation (e.g., driverless/ self-driving) for passenger and freight transport. I provide advice and academic insight on everything from emerging trends in transport and mobility and decarbonisation to strategy, policy and the wider social impacts of change.

This work happens in different ways depending on what’s useful, this has included one-off expert conversations and briefings to advisory projects, workshops and speaking engagements.

I particularly enjoy working with organisations on complex questions where an independent, evidence-based perspective can help challenge assumptions, bring new thinking, or make sense of a rapidly changing landscape.
